Today’s webinar = Not too fantastic

Okay, so my webinar service crapped out. Might have been due to the weather here; not sure who to blame. So basically, we had no useful video and couldn’t demonstrate how to do anything. If you listen to what’s below (audio only, accordingly), you get to hear me fight with the service as well. Fun times.

Also, I hadn’t anticipated how many questions I’d get, so I didn’t think it would be a problem that you can’t hear the questions. But it is a problem. That’s what all of those long pauses are: Me listening to questions.

Sooooo, I may have to pony up for a better service. Let me look into it.

We did cover a LOT of the non-demonstration stuff: Why you need a list, why you need a mailing service, the difference between RSS email delivery and a broadcast mailing, and most importantly, the key advantages and disadvantages to both iContact and aWeber. Hopefully that was still useful info.

In the meantime, I’ll have to reschedule this one for some time in May. Sorry, folks!

  2. I’m really curious about what webinar service you were using, and what you find in researching a new-and-better one. I’ve used GoToMeeting but as a Mac user I don’t get all their features. Currently researching alternatives including Yugma, Dimdim, Glance, and Vyew. Have you tried any of these?

Hope your next one goes smoothly!

  4. It was freeconference.com. The price was right for the call – free – and for the screen sharing, it was similarly right – $9/month. They swear up and down that it wasn’t their fault, so I’ll give them another try. Everything else was a lot more expensive.
