Personality brand consulting
Let me tell you about my business.
I write blog posts about whatever occurs to me. Usually, those things are kind of funny, and they’re usually irreverent or crass. Sometimes they’re inspiring, I guess, but that’s accidental. I spend a lot of my day on Twitter, making stupid jokes. And through doing this, I built a business that makes five figures a month. I did it in nine months, and now I guest post on some of the biggest blogs on the internet. I managed to swing some pretty impressive testimonials less than a year from a day when nobody knew my name. In short, I do everything wrong and somehow end up with all the right results. It’s natural, it’s fun, and it feels a hell of a lot better than lying to people and being sleazy. What I do is to just be myself and make friends, and I’ve gotten people to pay me to do that. I can teach you what I do. I can teach you how to be “the best you” and to put that “best you” in front of all the right people. I can tell you how you can admit your faults and gain loyalty instead of losing it. I can tell you how to be an imperfect real person and enhance your customer base in the doing. And because what I teach is the no-bullshit, no-smoke-and-mirrors philosophy that Sonia Simone of Copyblogger.com coined “The Third Tribe,” I’m going to practice what I preach and tell you right here and now that there are no guarantees. I don’t have a magic formula. I don’t promise the moon. You may work with me and still fuck up. But you may also end up doing what I did, divorced from your day job, spending your days meeting people and networking, and finding surprising increases in your business by doing so. I’m not for you if you want to build a marketing plan, or a business plan. I’m not for you if a sale means more to you than the relationship you build with your client – a relationship that can often net you far more income than that one sale could have. I’m not for you if you’re a fast-talker, a high-pressure salesperson, or have a get-rich-quick mentality. This is hard. Very hard. I’m not for you if you’re looking for a fast fix. And if you’re still reading? Then I’m probably for you. And we’ll probably have fun working together. And although there are no guarantees in life, most of my clients do end up kicking ass. Here’s what a few of my clients and readers have said: . “Yesterday morning I felt like a closet full of fraying wires with happenstance connections at best. I truly thank you for hooking me up.” “I had no real plan, and about a million ideas. Johnny has helped to distill my ideas down to a very small handful that I’m currently working on. Most importantly he’s been instrumental in identifying and bringing out the ME in me and my business goals, something I’ve found missing in many past (failed) pursuits. If you’re afraid that he’ll be a cocky, wisecracking, clown looking for a quick buck… well, I can’t blame you. But you couldn’t be more wrong. He’s only a little cocky [insert laugh track here]. But seriously, when you talk with him, you’ll find an honest, interested and resourceful person who really will help you blow through technical or business sticking points. f he doesn’t know something he’ll tell you, and if he does, he’ll spill the beans to help you out. I couldn’t be happier!” “Johnny B. Truant IS the future of the Internet. This should be etched inside the front cover of the ‘How To Run A Business In The 21st Century’ handbook. Good work Johnny, thank you.” “Johnny B. Truant is an AWESOME teacher! Thank you!” “I purchased a couple coaching sessions and your Zero to Business product and haven’t looked back since. I stopped spinning my wheels and started getting traction on my business. Thank you, Johnny!” . If you think business is too often sleazy and schmaltzy, we should talk. If you have a good sense of humor and a strong work ethic, we should talk. And if marketing and business and branding and all of that confuses you in the way it’s normally explained, we should definitely talk. Because none of that is necessary. All you need to do well in a “Third Tribe” business like mine is you, your talent, a willingness to work hard, a thick skin, a shitload of persistence, and balls. I can teach you to unlearn what traditional business (and especially a corporate job) may have taught you about “the way things are done,” and to prosper and have fun in the doing. I can teach you why the expression “win/win” isn’t just a catchy phrase, but is actually the most solid, most reliable, most profitable way to do business. The more you can help other people get what they want, the faster you’ll be able to get what you want. And I’m not just saying that. A lot of people just say that, and they’re missing the point. Win/win induces reciprocity, so people will fall all over themselves to help you down the road. Win/win generates tons and tons of referrals. Win/win opens the doors to affiliate commissions and mutually beneficial trades, allowing you to gain profit and services without doing any additional work you wouldn’t normally do. If you’re still not sure what it is I do, here’s some reading material to check out. Be sure to read the first one at least; it’s pretty much a foundation post. .
. If you’re ready to stop doing things the hard way and start kicking ass by doing things the more fun, more natural way that allows you to tell dick jokes if the move strikes you to do so, then we should talk. Every successful person has a coach or a mentor. (I know this because I have three.) I’d like to be one of yours. Ready to get started? Cool. I’ll assume you said “Yes.” So let’s talk turkey. . |
